My husband and I traveled from Oklahoma to North Carolina using a 6x12 trailer, we picked it up in Shawnee, Oklahoma and the guy there let us drive it off their property with no break lights. He claimed it was the truck itself so we took our truck to get it fixed and hooked it up to another trailer and the lights worked fine on the other trailer. We then proceeded to look at the uhaul trailer itself and when we did we noticed wires hanging from the inside of the trailer. My husband got back from Afghanistan a week prior to this and was now having to deal with a broken trailer we spent $500 on. By the time we realized the trailer was ruined it was to late to take it back. We had it fixed for about 3 hours until we hit a bump on the highway and all the lights turned off. We stopped in Arkansas and called Uhaul service to come fix it themselves. When they arrived they could not pen point the problem it took 3 hours to try to figure out what was wrong. When he finally decided it was a sensor on the trailer he then had to go get the sensor to fix it. When he got back it was 3 in the morning and replaced the sensor and the trailer lights still would not work. They did not bother to offer another trailer or anything. Luckily we made it to North Carolina safely not to mention the numerous wrecks we almost caused due to no break lights or blinker lights. We have contacted everyone at uhaul to try and give us a refund and its hopeless. They claim it was just a light bulb needing replaced, but if that was the case couldn't their mechanic figure that out? Very unprofessional and way to to treat veterans Uhaul.
